I usually fall out of love with smoothies during Winter. I love them, but winter fruits just ain’t that great for blending, wouldn’t you agree?

I’m on a mission to love them more over the coming Winter months. They’re quick, healthy and hydrating, so, I really want to. I have been brainstorming and blending my way through a few possibilities and am here with my two favorites. Spicy Pear and Carrot Cake.

Carrot, banana and some spices give you this beautifully bright orange baby you can see above. I used coconut water for the liquid and yoghurt to give it a tang. You could use some carrot juice here if you wanted it even carrotier {totally a word}.

This smoothie was my favourite of the two. A super ripe pear is best here so it blends up nice and smooth. The pear, almonds milk and spices almost taste like a delicious pear crumble.

Almost.

George Foreman sent me their Mix and Go Blender to try out, so I did to make these smoothies! The blender was quick, just as thorough as my Kitchen Aid blender and super easy to use. It had no problem blending the raw carrot.

I had to stop and give the bottles a shake to mix the ingredients around, but other than that, it worked a treat. I seriously hate cleaning blenders, but the bottles just go straight in the dishwasher. Win. It’s $39.95, you can find out more here.

I didn’t know you were an Aussie blogger too! So nice to meet a fellow Down Under lady here on the web 🙂
I usually abandon smoothies in the cooler months too, but I can’t wait to try these variations so I can keep up my delicious liquid breakfasts even when the weather is chilly!
